If we don't hear he's out soon we'd better organise a rescue team, can't imagine how he's coping I've never spent more than a couple of days in hospital. It's probably just me but they can't seem to get me out quick enough

My old man is in rehab at the mo after braking his femur. Reckons the food is pretty dire. Gets a choice of main meal then never gets his choice!

Virgin Care are the contractors there.

I really makes my blood boil. Nutrition assists recovery but the food I have seen lately has been appalling.
This is what you get when everything is for profit....you just can not justify creaming of money for share holders sitting on their arses doing nothing.

I heard a woman on the radio yesterday complaining her husband was now dying because he had a late diagnosis of cancer (not nice I agree) BUT she then went on to say she worked as a Nurse but she was in the private sector. SO forgive me if I am missing something but if the private sector is so good and even more so you want to work in it...BUT still dont either want OR can afford to pay for it what chance has everyone else got?

Not sure I can cheer you up Fizzy...all my attempts so far have turned into glass half empty, even though I start typing with good intentions.

That should set the recovery back a few months.

Even with the maginally better private hospital pay and conditions, I don't imagine any nurse can afford private healthcare.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone. It does help.
I had a bad gallbladder attack but the main problem now is an abscess on my liver.
I am on 3 different iv antibiotics 3 times a day. Blood sugar has gone mental due to infection so insulin injections twice a day.

Not a problem @fizzy, there is some nice looking liver on display at the co-op. I am sure we could arrange a transplant between the forum members with the aide of a gaztube vid

That would put you back in hospital.

Take your time to recover.

Over doing it can set you back - and that will be frustrating for you.

Some idiot decided it would be nice to do a steam rally 6 weeks after bowel surgery - steel wheels on a stony road - the 3 weeks of added pain afterwards should have taught me a lesson, but no 10 weeks after my op. we moved house and 3 days after moving in we did another steam rally - 5 hour drive from new home - THAT put my recovery back nearly 4 months.

Please look after yourself and take time to recover.
