I was a bit suprised with my 30 minute walk to work this morning, glad I had a late start, when I got up it was torrential rain here and a bit blustery. 2 hours later and I set off to work, its a nice sunny day with no rain and no wind, some one arrive at work 30 minutes later and they were very soggy with the rain. I guess I was in the quiet before the stom, or the gap between them.

That's a shame. Given it's outside a new housing estate I doubt there will be much enthusiasm from the owners to fix it and put it back up. Hope it is sold not scrapped.

It’s actually on land owned by the industrial estate that and the land the houses are on was all owned by the same person.

It wasn't bad here in Norfolk, a few dead tree's down but no other damages at home or the farm. The power has been off for several hours but we have auto standby generators at the farm and I've connected my 10kva Lister generator up at home so all good apart from the noise especially when I switch the kettle on.

It was extremely noisy, and everything is covered in salt, which means the sea of the English channel was being picked up by the wind, and blown across the island!

I'm always amazed that no matter how long we live in the UK we all( almost all) are surprised by the weather. It's a small island off the coast of a large land mass with a bit of water to the west in the way of the prevailing winds. What else do we expect.
