Ok i have had it now, four time already tis week and more times than i care to mention in the past dog walkers are doing the usual. letting there dogs drop there dropping in our garden and front pavement not to mention all the road we live on.

yes in an old story that lots of folk have to put up with but i plan to shame now.

i need a new security camera that does what my other did that failed as cheap tat, but it needs to catch an image when people pass by.

there is a comminutiy board at the top of the road and a local FB page so i will add all images to that, and a few others have said they will do the same.

we need something less than £100, i say that as the other worked well at £50 but kept loosing etterent thingymagig.

Those reolink ones let you insert a microsd card which it will record on for motion detection. Even if the wifi is patchy as hell it'll still clearly record on the card.

It's also waterproof, as long as the connections are sealed up. Mine is inside the porch so not an issue but that might be handy.

For, IIRC, another £20 or so they do a PoE - Power-over-Ethernet - version so you can just run a single CAT5 cable to it for power and network connection. I'm blown away at the physical quality (all metal) and image quality of the unit.

Good point - I've never bothered fitting one as it streams to reolink and also to a local FTP service in the house.

our old one is both ethernet and wireless but just kept loosing connection when wireless. to run a cable was to much so gave up on it.

Had a time when a car reversed fast up the road and smash inot my works van and buckle the front wheel it hit it that hard. the back end of the Corsa litteraly jumped so high it smashed the wing mirror and nothing else lol. The camera caught it and when i went to down load it lost it all due to a malfunction or something.

I had a dam big dog once and by time i got home my coat was a body warmer.

on a serious note, i give up. had it for over 15 years, on the path to even a few meter from the front door. if the council or which ever do gooder come knocking on my door about CCTV footage and some prat moaning thye will be going with there tails wagging. It will help with me loosing eyesight now

Many years ago I lived beside the A14 near the M11 junction , my dad had just been clearing the dumped rubbish in the small lay-by installed for our use when an estate car pulled up, a guy got out of the car and let a GSD out which promptly did its business, a woman got out of the passenger seat and got into the drivers, the dog was put in the back and the guy got into the passenger seat. My dad scooped up the crap on his spade then tapped the passengers window, the guy opened the window so dad said “Take your rubbish with you” before dumping the crap on his lap .
I always clear up after our dog and often clear up after others on our twice daily walk around our village, I would have no problem posting through a letter box if I knew who was responsible. Hope you manage to catch the culprit

Thats what i will be doing aswell as posters up and down the street. i just dont know much about security cameras at al. cant afford hundreds and dont wnat to blow the £100 i have on rubbish, i thought that a multi system would costa bit for half decent set up.

look you buy what you want too but one thing with cameras is there either not good, pinchable or good quality and all come with there own price

ip cameras are the better sort knighty showed that point well even ive upgraded to them at cost but its been worth it for very clear pictures
