a mates got a car the wiper broke and he had to keep using it so it marked the screen prob about near 10 inchs in a nice curve my fingernail can feel it if that helps

if it isnt deep you can get a kit for polishing it out or use jewelers rouge

Years ago I broke a screen and I took the car to the local Autoglass to get it replaced. They quoted around £200 to fix it then asked for my insurance details. I said I would be paying cash and she said in that case it will be £72.

Not as crazy as it sounds, I've improved scratches on glass using a DA with a very fine grit. When you are at the replacement point you have nothing to lose.

With depth comes distortion.
Polish a small aeria the edge is quite steep and can produce distortion.

yea a mate has a mop and has done it before so hes going to have a go and see how it goes if it needs a new screen as its due for an mot and needs a few things for the mot its scrap as the electric roof is not working either

I think you need something like ceri glass polish and a rayon polishing pad to get scratches out of glass given how hard it is

You can improve a scratch by sanding it back and then polishing with cerium oxide - that is essentially what the scratch repair kits are.
I wouldn't say you can remove it, unless it is very light.

I have polished a windscreen and some side windows to remove scratching. It certainly improved it, but it wasn't like polishing defects out of paint - you can still see them.
It also took a long time. I mean literally days.

Unless it is a super rare or expensive piece of glass, a replacement screen is probably a more cost effective option.

as above new glass screen tyre full service kit and what ever the mot guy finds would mean 500 plus and could be poss way more for an 06 car its not worth it

If you can feel it. It is too deep.
Yes it could be polished out. But that may lead to distortion in the field of view.

Best replace it.
