Yuasa for me. Previous one showed signs of failing weeks before the 5-year warranty expired and was swapped out with no questions asked.

Any gotchas regarding changing battery on 2014 VRS Skoda?

Don't know of tips for the yellow peril, but I clipped a 12volt Li-PO on the terminals of the yeti while I swapped mine. Since no volts were lost, nothing got reset.

I refuse to sell "Lion" batteries in our workshop ex Europooh - too many warranty claims in the past.

Bosch - Exide - Varta - Yuasa you can't go wrong.

VAG new cars have gone away from Varta and they now fit Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd. known as CATL


I would be happy to fit a Varta battery to my own car!

From what I've found so far (not an exhaustive search) if the battery is like for like, you should be ok.
Coding only seems important if the car has start/stop.

Lion batteries are terrible. Cheap and nasty. Generally not reliable, in my experience.

We carry Varta at work, my personal preference is Yuasa.

I only drive older cars, so any old battery will do!

Maybe call German automotive or McEwan's tomorrow and see what they advise. It's probably a biased opinion as they'll want money for their time.
If you're in the AA, they have a members helpline, 0370 142 0002, and claim to help with technical questions.

Not for my van they weren't. Twice the price of Tanya. Left me a bit bemused.

I can remember buying Lion batteries about 15 years ago, EuroCarParts sold them with a lifetime warrenty, after the changed it 3 times they decided they didnt do them with the lifetime warranty anymore

Kwik Fit used to offer a lifetime warranty on exhausts, my mate had a 2.8 Capri that they fitted a pair of new full exhausts to but their problem was he kept it for years and had 3 exhausts off them before selling the car

yeah I bought a lifetime warranty from them in 1998, the last 2 times Ive taken my car back to have it replaced, the local depot said that they dont do it anymore but they have replaced it as a good will gesture....... I have phoned their customer service line since and they say that they should still accept the warranty. next time it goes I'll have to ask the depot to phone their customer services so let them know that they should still change it.

I think they were upset on one occasion when I told them which part of the exhaust went and they ordered the wrong part to replace.

the small print says that if they can no longer replace the exhaust I should get my money back.

Work had a large customer who wanted to have AGM batteries fitted to all their vehicles, to try and reduce the number of battery related breakdowns.
They agreed on Lion AGM batteries, and a couple thousand were ordered and fitted across the country.

12 months later, the policy was changed to only fit OE AGM batteries, as although the battery replacement scheme initially worked in reducing breakdowns, we ended up with more battery failures than previously within that 12 month period.
Once the Lion batteries had been flattened once, they rarely recovered, but a Mercedes AGM battery could handle being flattened multiple times, and still test like new.

Wales has been piping it out for over a century.... so if you live in the Midlands you're already getting some .

Yes ,I made some benches and tourist information signs near the factory,do you know if they make all types there?
