Ive had my 66 plate LR Disco sport from new but now Im having DPF problems.
Starting post lockdown the DPF filter alarm came up, not the one telling you to drive it to clear the filter but straight to announcing the filter was full (+ the car goes in limp mode) go directly to the Dealer, do not pass go, collect £200. Going to the dealer is a position of last resort in my book ,made that mistake many years ago.
After reading a couple of reports on the net that faults were coming up despite the filter not being full I was recommended a firm called Terraclean. I called their local rep & he came out, connected his magic boxes to the car & confirmed the dpf was indeed NOT full. He reset the alarms, allowing me to take it for a high speed run & clearing the filter.
Unfortunately, that was not the end of the story & the same happened again in December. Called the Terraclean rep back again, yet again dpf NOT full, he reset alarms & then able to regen the dpf again.
Just returned from a trip out in the car & same has happened again.
I plugged my code reader into the car but it doesnt seem to be powerful enough to reset the dpf filiter alarm & force it to regen.
So far, it cost me £50 the first time the Terraclean guy turned up & £80 the second.
What I don't understand is why the alarm is going straight to filter full & doesn't give me ‘regen’ reqd alarm, which I can do something about.
One thing I have noticed is I have started getting a low battery voltage alarm, the battery voltage isnt low enough to stop the car starting but the powered tailgate wont open unassisted. Not sure if that related but given the age of the car ibut battery could be on its way out.
I know part of the problem is the car doesn't get run long distances but cant understand why I don't get the regen dpf filter alarm?
Anybody experienced similar issues or know whats going on with the alarm.
Thanks in anticipation.
