When there is a shout. they just drive off and the cable pulls apart. Does
All cars in northern Alberta have block heaters. I had mine on a timer so it came on at four in the morning to warm the engine. Did I ever drive away and forget to unplug it? No, no, no, never. Apart from the morning when it was 34 below and I arrived at work with 15 metres of cable trailing behind me....![]()
How much are they @8obSome of them are such a simple thing as well, a mini immersion heater in the place of one core plug. I am surprised the block heaters aren't fitted to everything considering how dirty cold engines run for the first few minutes ,they are a big help with the emissions battle.

The GM V8 ones are really simple to fit, beat out a core plug and tighten up the one screw, connect up 110v supply. Job done.

Two wired in series no need for a transformer. Some of them are such a simple thing as well, a mini immersion heater in the place of one core plug. That's pretty much exactly what every vehicle in Alberta had fitted. Ask you say, really simple. The big bonus is that the engine spins over and starts immediately instead of groaning through the treacle that the oil has turned into and dying until you fetch a truck battery to jump it from. Some of them are such a simple thing as well, a mini immersion heater in the place of one core plug. Does anyone have a link or an idea of one that would fit an L200 on a 12 plate please? Some of them are such a simple thing as well, a mini immersion heater in the place of one core plug. Cheers Bob. I now need to work out which hole that’s poked into. Any old core plug I would assume. There is a 42mm one on the bay of thieves https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/283424190405?var=0&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&campid=5338343596&toolid=10001&customid=eb:g:vms:eb:283424190405;EAIaIQobChMImbvavZ-l9QIVCeDtCh3hVAVMEAQYASABEgKlrvD_BwE&gclid=EAIaIQobChMImbvavZ-l9QIVCeDtCh3hVAVMEAQYASABEgKlrvD_BwE

That’s 12v, surprisingly. I expected 110.
I know they were a option on landrovers from my days messing with them. They were 240v usually. To be honest I thought they were just a GM thing but after scratching about there seems to be a fair selection of sizes/voltages for other makes. If you knew the size of coreplug there may well be one made that will fit straight in.
Bob
In Canada they were always 240 volt. Fit in whichever core plug is easiest. They only need to be on for three hours, which is why I fitted a timer at the end of the extension lead.Cheers Bob. I now need to work out which hole that’s poked into. Any old core plug I would assume.

Kenlowe (?) made something that did all that. Couldn’t fit it on a scania I believe. Something to do with the engine water pump not going the conventional way but I can’t really remember as it was a long time ago. The Landy guys liked them on the V8syou can get 240v engine heaters, which fit to a hose, I'll try to think of the mane of them
it's a heater with a pump built in, so it heats the engine coolant and pumps it around I always thought about fitting one and adding a relay to turn the heater fan on, so it would defrost the glass and warm up the cab too :-)
Kenlow used to make them, don’t know if they still do.you can get 240v engine heaters, which fit to a hose, I'll try to think of the mane of them
