Thanks @Hood! I read somewhere the low reading could be related to CO2 being stored as liquid inside the bottle along with the Argon but not sure about that though. It would depend on the brand but 50bar does sound very low even compared to some over here. I think the lowest I have seen mentioned is 109 bar for Hobbyweld.
Well It's a brand new one from Amazon but I'll try to gently tap on the gauge maybe that'd bump the reading a bitare you sure the gauge your checking it with is accurate , and not just the seven quid one that came with a thirty quid reg thats had a hose and a mains cable hung over it for the last ten years ,,,
just asking /
No, that won't be the cause as the mix is predominately argon. Thanks @Hood! I read somewhere the low reading could be related to CO2 being stored as liquid inside the bottle along with the Argon but not sure about that though.
Yeah, makes sense - I guess I'll ask the gas store if they mistakenly filled it with pure CO2 insteadNo, that won't be the cause as the mix is predominately argon.
Very unlikely but not impossible.Yeah, makes sense - I guess I'll ask the gas store if they mistakenly filled it with pure CO2 instead
never tap a gauge ,,, if it needs a tap to read correctly , it needs replaced .Well It's a brand new one from Amazon but I'll try to gently tap on the gauge maybe that'd bump the reading a bit
Somewhere in Israel I presume.Where is the bottle from? Under filled hobby /rent free bottles are common. Still annoys me that my argon was only 3/4 full
A full argon bottle is generally considered 230 or 300 bar. I would be taking it back. I assume the co2 is filled first by weight then topped up with argon to full pressure.
Indeed, got it from a local dealer and planning on sending it back shortly. It's a hobby bottle where the tap has no pressure relief nor rapture disc, and on top of all no transport cap so tbh no so happy about it anyways. First time getting a bottle, guess I had to to some research first :\Somewhere in Israel I presume.
Yes, should be a 150 oneyou can put the pressure that you want on a cylinder , but you have to unsure that the cylinder can take it.
As for my argon and argon mix mine goes to 200 bars. In portugal they fill it to 200 bars so the polish cylinders that can cope with 150 bars are not refilled. As for the 50 bars i have a co2 bottle that has thas pressure on it beside the max pressure of that cylinder is only 175 bars the 200 bars gone up to 300 bars. there are some 300 bars working pressure but i don´t know if they refill them.
you have to look at the test and working pressure of the bottle it can be a 200 bar working pressure but only filled to a 3/4.Yes, should be a 150 one
