mount one handle in the vice and extend the movable one to give more leverage make a stop gauge so you dont have to keep measuring every cut just push the material up to it and chop . easier still get the missus to feed the metal while you cut
I have the same one, badged as Vevor, I've not had it long but impressed up to now, 3mm steel sheet is easy, I have made some improvements though. First I couldn't get my weight over it to start the cut, so I notched a vee out of the handle and welded it back together, so instead of pointing backwards away from you when staring the cut, it points forwards towards you. It's now much easier to start the cut and finishes the cut about waist height.Got one of these in the end. With 20% saving code on Ebay and £25 'winnings' from Paypal it worked out a good price I thought.
Eats 6mm bar, supposedly can do 12 but I've only tried 10 and it did it quicker than a grinder. Will come in handy for cutting sheet too.
Bit tight for space on my bench but managed to find room for it. Drilled and tapped the bench top for two bolts at the rear. Didn't bother with the front ones, all the pressure is downwards there isn't it?
Well I lopped through some 2mm sheet today and it went through like butter, also some 3mm X 20 flat.Would be interested how well that does sheet 0.8 - 2mm.
I've only just spotted this, if I'd seen it sooner I could have dropped mine off with you. Sorry chap.Well I lopped through some 2mm sheet today and it went through like butter, also some 3mm X 20 flat.
Thinnest sheet I've cut is 1mm which it did without issue.
Really pleased with it. Saving me lots of time and effort.
This is the one https://www.sealey.co.uk/product/5637173338/metal-cutting-shears-6mm-capacity-o12mm-roundDo you have a link to it? Might get one.
For sheet is the cutting depth limited to the jaw length or will it slide past it?
Thanks!
No worries. I'll message you next time I buy a tool just in caseI've only just spotted this, if I'd seen it sooner I could have dropped mine off with you. Sorry chap.
Interestingly that's exactly the same tool as my hydraulic crimps. Even has the holes in the case for the dies!I have a hydraulic hand set and an electric one , they will both crop up to 32mm . Not expensive either.

mine also, well all you need to do is make a set of dies to cut bar!Interestingly that's exactly the same tool as my hydraulic crimps. Even has the holes in the case for the dies!
