My advise would be install the ssd, and put a linux based os on it, problem solved.
I even have Linux os on raspberry pi, where I can do the exact same as I can do
on an intel computer, only with less spy ware and more security and less power used.

It's all hassle. Getting vsti to work chasing down latency issues.I used Ardour years ago, on a fast machine with a real time kernel is was bang on, I thought with modern hardware it would be good?
Im aware of the alsa/jack/pulse issues but surely you would just pick one and exclude the rest?
Can't be bothered to watch another video but I can tell you now it won't suit my gaming needs. Especially now I'm spending more time playing in vr.im considering linux myself
2020 reference

I run reaper. The Reaper DAW runs flawlessley on Linux, even on a raspberry Pi, not a single issue,
and Reaper is a lot cheaper than the big advertised daws, paying for a name is all you get now.
Harrison Mixbus 32c is another exelent music program, there are many more too.
Started on cubase and fruity loops mid 90s.Stop making me feel bad, thats a nice set up there, your a creator then.
Have you tried that cake walk / bandlab daw, I really like it, though it does
not run on linux.
Usb power saving has been known to cause issues. One of the biggest problem with any daw, is interrupts, from the system
and other programs, and the usb bus falling asleep, and the drive following it,
and people thinking they need usb3 audio interfaces, usb3 is still a work in progress
and should be avoided.
Lots of people even dumped apple and moved to Linux because of serious issues
when they updated that security chip on their systems, I didn't dig into it as I have no
need for a mac book pro, but then they put out the M1 versions, and blew everything
else out of the water, and now they have even faster M1 chips.
Windows, will never use it ever again, have not done so in years.
