On average, good service was shared with one or two people, bad service shared with ten. And that was pre-internet. I expect the ratio is still the same. So it is worth it to keep you happy.

This is valid for the manufacturers/dealers with some quality awareness who care about the customer, as in the example with the Pressol pressure oiler.

For the others - the box pushers who don't give a damn and are already carrying on under a different name next week when their score took a nose dive - I can think of at least two other reasons:

- For them, they don't care what the product is, it's all just worthless junk with huge profit margins anyway;

- In order to be able to earn money at all with box pushing, you have to run it with as few staff as possible, there's no one there who could really take care of complaints.
The best thing is to automate everything:
1) The customer who complains once gets a meaningless universal apology and a small offer of reconciliation (in the case of the Chinese, also the request to take pictures of the problem [missing parts!]);
2) If the customer writes a second time, content doesn't matter, he gets his money back and should do what he wants with the waste he got.

More or less like that, with slight variations ...

Cab tilt mechanism is 22mm so I have a socket to save me always needing to get my box out.

I deliberately went for the normal ends, ball end can be good in some circumstances but they can be a pain when trying to start a screw where access is limited and you are having to try and use the key to get it in place.
The other set I was thinking about getting was these Bondhus ones.

Decided the Wera Hex-Plus may be better on the shallow sockets that the button heads on the Africa Twin has. They are shallower than normal as Honda has kept the one size head and hex which is what a normal M8 button head would have but they are M6 and even some M5.

Oh they're nice, adjustable angle heads would be useful, just a shame they don't have the hex all the way down the stem.

Yesterday I acquired an mot failure

Today I acquired an MOT pass

Nothing unexpected. Front pads and disks. (not done yet by me as still good mid year and was aware of disks.)
Rear fog light. Never used so didn't trip the dash warning and rear numberplate light. Assume it was the door connection pins again.

Flagged emissions first test by a small amount. Given the time it spent with the wrong injectors fitted it's not too much of a suprise.
Passed second time no issues.

And breathe again

Cool. 41mm at the nose. -19mm offset 9.5mm each side gives me 22mm with a 30mm Bush standard stair tread is 22mm bargain sliding bit visible near my sons hand is to gauge run rise by the looks of it. Couple of digs to fill with jbweld but can't complain

Quite heavy. The accuracy is given as "indicator line x 0.3mm/m", which, with this very good readability, is good enough for me for now.

The company still exists, today in the fourth family generation as "Roeckle Neigungsmesstechnik e.K.". (Roeckle inclinometer technology).
