I want to make something like this with my choice of letters and design

Ive got a very simple design in mind which consists of three letters, I can print this to any size I want

how do I transfer my design on to a MDF board?

im sure it’s easy but my brain is drawing a blank and I can’t even think of the search term to stick in google

I assume you’re going to cut out the design in the MDF after? If you want a decent edge on the stencil get a can of photo spray mount - you can get a temporary one I think which will keep it nice and flat and give you a crisp edge to spray up to.

I’ve used a data projector to project onto the board and then traced around the projected shape (admittedly I was transferring one of those 3d wooden animal kits onto an 8x4 sheet of ply).

I want to do as the picture but with only three letters, it’s a bit of fun to copy a very well respected sound man and do something for my own sound system

Im still researching fonts, but drawn to square edge letter styles where one of the letters will be a little unusual

i think I’m settling on printing each letter to A4 size, glue to thin card, cut out to make a template that I can then draw around.

probably use 6 or 9 mm MDF for the front then what ever I have for the rest of the case

Go to a London tube train depot late at night, where you will find some young men all dressed in black who kindly repaint the trains for TFL, without charge.
Ask one of these nice people to spray your piece of wood to a design of your choice.
It may be worth wearing a stab proof vest and running shoes though !.

Put it on too a poly pocket sheet and sponge through the letters, if your stuck i got a mate who does this day in day out

Print it out, trace the outlines through onto the back of the paper. A lightbox helps, but not essential.
Turn it back the right way round, and retrace or just rub over the outline so it transfers onto the board.

Another method it to pinprick through important points and then pencil through onto the mdf and join the dots.

I could do individual letters, but the problem is I don’t know how

Good old fashioned CAD, Card Board Aided Design will be good enough for this job

Just print on paper and glue whole sheet to the wood. Cut out and remove remaining paper. Use glue that you can wash of afterwards.

Following on from the event, the partnership hosted a consultation evening at the Vision Youth Café on 8 September, where local residents, young people and local organisations gathered to give their opinions on having a legal graffiti wall and the issue of graffiti in the area generally.
