Get the feeling I'm going to be ripping up what went down yesterday. No confidence in its longevity. Wasn't immediately obvious how much of an issue it was going to be as I started along the staircase wall and my attention was focused on getting the floor under the staircase

When I got onto clean runs I noticed how much movement there was and took a closer look at the tongues

Looks like one plank is from Wickes and the other B&Q!!!


I had something very similar this time last year with 53 boxes of solid oak flooring from Wickes! ^
They sorted it out eventually as we had it for 18 months before I started laying it!

These are perfectly sized and look well made. It's just the tongues.

Undercut which doesn't help and the veneer sits proud by 2mm each side. Barely 2mm of tongue engaging.

It's locating the board but isn't securing it tightly.

Possible. 5 and a half packs so he must have been asleep a while.

Thankfully I didn't buy it. I just made the customer aware and suggested we stop laying. Last thing I need in 6 months is a floor that's listing.

Home by ten. That's with a 50minuite drive. As I turned up the wife and kids went out. Nice peaceful house. Happens once every month or so. House is never normally quiet

Rarely work outside of mk these days. Knebworth currently but they are repeat customers and good to work for. I hate long drives for work and try to avoid at all costs

Some mornings I'm less than 5 minutes from home. Il do a detour to the lockup or Screwfix etc just to get some heat in the block
