But surely they will be made so they clip in and lock to the EV or charge from inside the boot. Which can be locked.Aye, that'll grow legs as soon as the Owner's back's turned. No mention of price on the website either.
Maybe it'll have a built-in Tracker?![]()

Way too intelligent....But surely they will be made so they clip in and lock to the EV or charge from inside the boot. Which can be locked.
The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is like that. Small engine is just a battery chargerHas anybody actually made a reverse hybrid.
Small ultra efficient engine to generate power and charge and a conventional EV drive chain
See plenty with the engine doing the driving.
The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is like that. Small engine is just a battery charger
everything else is EV drive train
I didn’t know that, apparently it kicks in at high speed, something I’ve not triedThe Outlander PHEV engine can do more than just charge the battery, it can connect directly to the front wheels as well in parallel mode.
But surely they will be made so they clip in and lock to the EV or charge from inside the boot. Which can be locked.
My point was they will cost peanuts and will eventually be fitted in all EV's when their use becomes obvious.Doesn't look like that from the website. Do any EVs even have internal charging charge sockets? That'd surely mean leaving the boot/tailgate open if using a public charge station.
Why not just fit a reserve battery as standard? My point was they will cost peanuts and will eventually be fitted in all EV's when their use becomes obvious.
Because IMHO many many people especially those in a terrace house who will not have access to charging points. Why not just fit a reserve battery as standard?
You mean like me …..Because IMHO many many people especially those in a terrace house who will not have access to charging points.
You could carry it in and charge it and go to a pub while you fully charge it to get home etc etc.
That’s a good point. Actually brings back memories …. I had several bikes with reserves (I’m pretty sure it wasn’t on later ones ??) but I do remember my Kwaka F7 where the reserve went about 5 miles …. Found that out the hard way.You mean like me …..
Those are the ones already screwed over, I mean a reserve like you used to have on bikes … enough to get you out of the crap, maybe limited to 15mph or some nonsense and all the toys turn off to discourage regular use
On a side note, would it not be easy enough to share charge between 2 ev's?
thats why it needs to reduce performance and turn off all non essential systems... once you loose heating/aircon, radio, entertainment, and speed is reduced ..... there will always be idiots thoughAs I wrote before, if it beeps at you and tells you how many miles you have left when it gets to under 50 and you don't take notice, are you going to take notice if it stops, possibly in a dangerous position, and you have to re-start? Or will you press on hoping to reach a charger.
yes EVs still not as good as ICE in my opinion wait till winter cold to see how much range is reducedDid anyone watch Top Gear last night with the 3evs and caravans.
