Got the box section for the hopper chopped up, also the 12mm plate for the stiffeners at the top.
Most of the box is just straight cut at the ends but the 4 gantry ones have angles at either end and are diagonal, so basically 12 degrees at one end and 6 degrees at the other. Made up a simple jig (just a piece of 12mm cut at 45 degrees) so that I could position the box diagonally in the vice which made life easy.

Yes, I had designed it so the 4 legs were spaced the same distance apart so that meant the angle was 12 degrees back and also inwards which made cutting it possible in one hit

Made a bit of a hopper extension this morning and stuck it on.
50mm box with some galv sheet welded on.
It now needs extending up the conveyor to the top of the handrail.
It was all done pretty quickly and a bit rough.

I'm not sure your yard is cluttered enough. I don't suppose any of it's stainless, and jiffy bag sized?

What size were you looking for? There may be some bits and pieces of 1.5mm that are left from plasma cutting but likely not that big as any decent sized stuff I keep.

Ahh fair enough, 1.5mm won't do it, I need about 6mm or thicker to cut some 60mm ish rings out of.

Definitely nothing like that I am afraid. Don't do much stainless stuff nowadays and what I do is usually 3mm or under.

Sod that so had some drawer boxes laser cut (admittedly 4 months ago) coupled with the steel from Paul I now have a pretty mega bench.






Now I need to fill this one to make space to make and paint the second one.

Then empty this one and paint it.

At last i have finished the lathe cabinet, but for sitting on its own legs as the crane outriggers are to high to drop it down on the deck and also to long.

All up and running bow. Just need programme the VFD properly

Welded some wheels onto the sandblaster today for much easier movement around the garage now I might need space behind since it's where the lathe goes

WIP glue up today of a fairy house I’m making with the big one (9). Good job fairies can fly as my patience would run out at miniature staircases.

She mostly beat the copper roof into shape herself round the anvil, after a bit of practise.
