Dog kennels

About half of all my welding work is custom dog runs and kennels as well as kitting out vans and trucks.
I have been busy with this set on and off for 3 months but I am rather pleased with them! The customer seen them finished for the first time and started crying she was that pleased! They include
Everting metal is galvanised, fully insulated including drop in ceilings, white pvc solid cladding inside and out side around the inner base, green plastisol flat sheeting on the outside, double turn locks on each door, sliding door accessible from outside the runs, waterproof lighting, tube heaters, raised mesh floor for washing out covers with stable matting for comfort! Theirs been 3,000 pan head self tappers in this job

She hasn’t had it yet It won’t be cheap but won’t be any more than the other big names are offering, I wish I had More customers like her, payed all materials upfront and never askes about the end cost just wants a good job done

wont it shut off too early and wont keep dogs warm enough

to me there more a roof heater than a dog heater

It will have some effect - depending on the control method. Most kennel heaters are infra-red radiant or blown air (the ones in Afghan had reverse cycle aircon units fitted).
I can't see the roof but I assume it's insulated and some method of controlling / draining condensation is in place.

I have to agree with that, I did have protective cages for the tubes to be low down (hot air rises ect) but she god her own sparkie in on a day I wasn’t their to guide them. But she is happy

The ceilings are insulated and theirs a 2 inch gap between insulation and roof ..and internally theirs a small extraction fan going in each one today “just in case” for £40 each they might as well

Dog sleeping area is to big, my dog sleeping area is roughly three kitchen base, slightly deeper than base units, same height. The top is hinged for access when cleanings required. Access to the run is about 10 inches off floor level and through a dog flap.

Do you have a website? Possibly looking to replace my kennel next year

In your photo on the 'stuff I've done today' thread, it looks like the kennel is in the garden of a terrace house? she must have quiet dogs or understanding neighbours!!

2 inch mesh, I rarely do the Barr’s thease days unless it’s for one of the foxhounds packs.
A walk in bed area is/was required by the council for registered breeders licence.
i have bed boxes with lift up lids for my own dogs and agree their warmer, smaller cheaper and take up

Very good neighbours I think! She is a registered breeder and groomer so plenty of dogs coming going and barking

I hunted my own pack for enugh years to have developed a mighty thick skin, bars hollow worked out at nearly 3x the price of mesh, solid hoop top bars that fit into wall Colums are about double the price of mesh.

MWD kennel spec. is mesh, although my Grandad was a gamekeeper and all their kennels had bars - that may be due to the age of the building and mesh not really being a 'thing' at the time though.
ETA - just checked, the outer fence & separation fences are mesh, gates and the end of the runs are bars. JSP315 Scale 14 refers.
