Advice please

Hi guys ive never welded before but ive baught a Clarke pro 90 mig welder to learn, i will be using it to weld the panels on my mk1 fiesta and just have a question.
Can i use pre-fluxed wire with this welder?

also any advice from you guys for a clueless nooby would be greatly appreciated

You aren't really supposed to use gasless wire on those - it's the Clarke EN models that take gasless - you can reverse the polarity on them. Also gasless wire is too hot for bodywork - it's much easier to use shielding gas with normal wire at those thicknesses.

Have a good read through the MIG tutorial and practice on spare metal before having a go at the car. If you get stuck or something isn't going well post photos on the forum and we'll offer ideas.

Waiting for a phone call to go pick my last panel up from autopaint.

will be starting some time this week, just gota take off my o/s wing and prime up the front end ready to weld on my 2 front wings, then i have to do 1 floorpan, both sills, both rear wings, boot floor and rear panel

So once my front end is ready i will be having a practice with the welder to see if i trust myself on my panels

Btw read your bug thread that looks like an epic project and im liking your plans, to hell with the purists

Sounds like a lot of work, but worth it to keep a Mk1 fiesta on the road

i''m in a similar position and have recently bought the same welder and have a mk1 fez that needs some tlc.
can you put some pics up as you do the work, particularly the floor pans.
