Wiring VFd

Afternoon folks .
Teas at the ready .
From the picture provided , the 240 single phase gets wire into the 3 terminals on the left hand side the 3 phase output to the terminals on the left hand side . Placement of cables is what I'm needing assistance with , below the terminals on the extreme right and left there is an earth symbol .

Unusual that the power terminals are not clearly marked. Not marked on the outer casing?

Could you check the model number it should be printed on the side, and I'll get a pic from the manual.

For the motor, the terminals should be marked either L1 or U (Brown) L2 or V (Black) L3 or W (Grey). Have you a meter to check the earth screw (should link to the case).
Input L1 = Brown then L2 or N = Blue and the same check as output for the earth.

Well that’s awkward two different earth connections. Check which screw connection connects to a metal part of the vfd before connecting any wires.

The only marking on the terminals are the earth symbols ,there are no other markings at any of the terminals for me to correspond with your instructions

From the diagram and label it looks like neutral connects to 1 live connects to 2. Then things don't match. If the two screws circled green are screwed into a metal part of the vfd you hopefully can check for resistance between either 3 or 6 and either of the two screws, which ever has a resistance of 0 ohms should then be the earth connection. Assuming you have a multi-meter.

No but it matches the document the OP has posted and is closer than the legend. I wouldn't be happy wiring it up like that either so perhaps more information is required. Hopefully @Kram can find more conclusive info.

Edit: do as @carbon suggests to check which are earth against the case, that will tell which is correct.

Well it seems to match the yl620A manual and the label on the case, that would be good enough for me. I thought this was a different model from the amazon picture, shares the same case as the nflixin one?
Apply power with it safely insulated, gloves on and keep one hand in your pocket

You know after seeing this thread you all got me worried now a si will be wiring mine up soon for my lathe. it was big enough headache understanding the VFD in the first place lol.

Think i best go look at my VFD and see if it has instructions for wire size and fitting etc.

@Fortis and @W.olly please be careful as a vfd can kill you if you don't take the necessary precautions etc.

Be careful touching wiring or connections after a vfd has been powered they do hold charge for a while, in the manual for the one I have the instructions give a time of 5 minutes after the fan stops or panel lights go out before doing any work on the connections

The two very bottom screws are earth ,they screw into the chassis of the VFD . Not very well place to be honest.

Cant wait to try mine out, need ti build the motor mount first and finish the cabinet first

Way its going it will be bloody xmas. got a few jobs to do though. Flypress center, tool holders, lathe motor adjustment bit. start easy lol
