Ended up having to deliver a rather large door to Kishorn the other week, then take a pallet up over to a hydro scheme north of applecross, it was a nice drive. Though as some of you already know I'll soon be operating out of kishorn port working for Ferguson transport leaving deep sea and going costal for a while.

Yes 3 weeks on 3weeks off instead off going from 3 months on and 2 off which was to be changing to 4 on and 2 off. They may as they are originally a trucking company they may even teach me to drive a truck in my time off which would be something different. Bit of a salary drop and paying tax but the time at home will be more valuable.

Thanks for the post, you've reminded me how beautiful it is there.

My runs West seem to centre more on the North West these days, but even those are few & far between these days due to a certain very popular tourist route.......

Seems a nicer schedule, seen the trucks around a lot but not sure about the boats , what are they doing just freighting around the Scottish coast?

You will see a huge change working on those little boats, youll have to actually work for a living rather than poncing about in your whites and steaming bonnet.

Hahahahaha funny you say that I do have my power boat ticket and all I need is to sit a small exam and get my comercial endorsement and I think I can drive the smallest of thier land craft as its under 24m in length. Ah well it can't be any harder than I had to work for the big white star on the blue background. There was no time for poncing about there either, and nothing stayed white for more than 2 seconds.

Yes just taking stuff around the coast, out to fish farms, and out to the islands mainly. Some other work to. Yeah the trucking side has really expanded the last few years, they even have a big depot down in Carlisle now too.

Most people seem to get out your way on the applecross Pass if you fo your best white van man impression.

I said that earlier. Those upside down cork shaped ones were built by a Norwegian outfit called Sevan. Did a big recruitment drive back about the time I was heading out to Korea for a new FPSO build. A fair few folk I knew went to work for them and stayed with Teekay now Altera.

On a serious note @Robbie260 cant imagine it would take a great lot to get class 5 deck I think its called that lets you be Oow on rock dodgers.

A job with variety is good. You’ll be working with one of my customers I’d expect at some point. They’re always that way towing feed barges etc. Took the doors off kishorn and put them back last year if you know who I mean.

Run a couple of multicats. Green ones.

I’m pleased for you. It’ll be good to get a broader base especially if you can get your HGV into the bargain.
