I'm a car upholsterer.
Remove cover sew up seam and replace. If panel has shrunk up too much then panel would need replacing.Careful with steam as it shrinks leather.You will not be able to stretch the leather back into shape.

As my first post there is a massive amount of knowledge on this forum many thanks for the comment. I am aware and concerned about the shrinkage. i will take may time and figure something out.

dont think its shrunk myself ....theyre an extremely tight fight from new , its just the foam pulling it apart imo

Unlikely. They are stitched with very strong thread, bonded Nylon 40 is what I use. Animal remains do shrink like that and exert quite a pull on the stitching if not treated regularly, so it needs feeding to make it more supple before re-stitching. It may be too late for it if it has shrunk too far. There is little that can be done on top, the cover needs to come off to be done properly.

I would suggest a decent funeral but that isn't going to impress the OP!

Going to collect tomorrow removed the leather looked at it then took it to a trimer bottled out but happy they fixed it thought i would finish the
