When we re did the kitchen about 10 years ago, those massive upright fridges were’nt really a thing, and the fad was for built in appliances. The freezer on the end of the worktop run is on the small side, and will probably pack in at some point, and the built in fridge has been moved to make a beer fridge, and we have a stand under fridge. Im thinking if I remove these and the end wall units we could have a big fridge freezer.
the run of granite worktop and upstand would need cutting. If it were a straight run it may be feasible to take it out, but its bonded to the breakfast bar so would be a massive job to remove and make good again. The granite place don’t do alterations.
I was wondering about the feasibility of cutting it myself with an angle grinder and new slotted diamond disc, the granite place wouldnt commit to saying it could be done, and mentioned the massive amount of dust that it would generate, but wondered if anyone on here has done anything similar and whether it would be feasible, and not look like Id cut it with a knife and fork, wondered whether a strip of wood could be used as a guide to get a straight cut. ?
