Imo they're trying to make 'cash' redundant, it's what "chip & pin" was all about, that and control. But I crumpled up my foil hat a while ago.

Until recently I had a tin of cash, I couldn't pay it in as the bank wanted to know where it came from. I couldn't prove it so I bought a load of engineering stuff insteadImo they're trying to make 'cash' redundant, it's what "chip & pin" was all about, that and control. But I crumpled up my foil hat a while ago.

I chucked a small bucket of change through a machine at Tesco's, this gave the option to turn it into paper cash or Tesco's vouchers = money laundering on a seriously small scaleUntil recently I had a tin of cash, I couldn't pay it in as the bank wanted to know where it came from. if im honest here and this is the part that bugs me the most
Most customers (more than 50%) pay their energy bills by direct debit. This is usually the cheapest way to pay (many companies charge extra if you pay by cash, cheque or have a prepayment meter).
its the same money and yet you cant have a lower tariffs if you pay by cash or prepayment meter which is what you should get
