I'm showing one of my stationary engines in October so thought I'd build a water pump to go with it.
The pump when I bought it.
As it was working I didn't need to dismantle it completely, stripped and cleaned ready for painting.
Masked up and first coat of red oxide applied.
After 2 coats of red oxide followed by 2 coats of grey machine enamel I did the "tongue sticking out of the corner of the mouth" picking out the detail with red enamel.
Made a couple of gaskets to keep the oil and water in.
Painted and assembled.
Wondering what to use for water tank when I remembered my old pistol safes which I thought would come in handy one day, that was 25+ years ago
Cut the top off and cleaned up where it would need sealing.
To be continued....
