Running heating circuit across 4m of outdoor space. Also potable over the same gap?

Im thinking 10mm pipe with both feed and return running inside of 30mm (ish) walled grey foam lagging stuff (which i have), inside of a soil pipe.

Unless anyone can suggest anything preferable?

Its only for a couple of rads, so not much load.


If i want to get potable water across, its the whole 700mm trench thing, right? (not that the incoming main to our house is more than 200 deep!) Or is there relaxation of the rule when its a feed off the main dwelling to an outbuilding?

I pulled mine through ducting pre lagged works really well no measurable differential between the ends.


I would put it in its own zone motorised valve

It's to serve a single outbuilding, so, yes, seperate zone is fine.

I could probably even stuff a probe in somwhere and run a frost stat.

Now thats an idea - frost stat on the heating duct and run the potable through the same pipe. I'm sure it's in contravention of all sorts of regs, would breed legionella in the pipe, etc.etc. but it wouldn't freeze!

(Until there was a power cut, but, realistically, a freeze isn't going to rupture some small bore pex anyway)
