This magnetic swarf cleanup tool , magnet in a non magnetic tube you push a magnet in the tube to collect swarf then draw it out over the bin and then swarf drops off. Very handy and £18 off eBay will save alot of time in cleanup and save hoovering up so much

Now that the garage /shed is up and running, I've been using one of those magnets on an extendable handle. Kind of a pain and a mess using a rag to pinch off the swarf on the end and shake it into a bin, so after viewing a couple of videos recently I was looking to fabricate a tool like you bought.

Thanks for posting, I just decided to order one of these off the Bay. Price was £19.49 at the moment, but as a tool that will be in constant use, its cheap when you think about the time and effort involved in making one. Cheers.

I've got one of them, but also have one shaped like a little bucket with a handle on top, you pull another handle attached to the magnet up to release the swarf. Picks a bit more up but is much bigger so not as handy for small gaps between machines.

Another cheap set of metric ER11 collets. I use them on my Capstan. This set has an 1/8" and 1/4" which will do nicely for the Pantograph which was retrofitted with ER11 so I can use the cheapo engraving tools win-win

Little palm Sanders great for detail work but need something to sit between it and the belt sander.

Did ok yesterday on the main frame of the gate but the t&g was cupped and caused issues

That's why the Sanders here today.

Very little sanding needed on the frame but the boards have a lot of chips.

Not the best quality pine.

This little lot yesterday, guy says, these any good to you Norm? Aye says I, help yourself then so I did. the callipers are (un chinese) Moore & Wright, as is the small set square. The 12" rule is a Rabone. The Item in between the two centre drills I've never came across before, the ID on it is AMBROSE 1 7000/Q12. It's twin fluted and very sharp, It's to sharp angle for a counter sink. May be for diesel pump repairs.
