Saw a video of one for small bales the other day, like a spiral carpark, bales just kept going up till it was full, then when they got to the barn it just unloaded off the top.

Clearing to a stack near the fields they're unbeatable for speed, our issue is stacking into sheds.

That's the dream!
Sadly for our few acres of small bales we make every year it barely justifies a bale sledge, much less a machine stacking setup. We get the rest big baled.

Dad does a lot of little bales, he has several customers for horses etc. We have a few wild flower meadows too which makes really nice stuff. Think we made probably 1500+ hay bales this year, 150+ big square double haylage bales and did I think 40acre of silage in the pit. Usually do more but not got as many cows in for wintering this year.

I keep wanting dad/brother to get into making small hay bales specifically to sell, but they're not interested. We just make loads of pit silage and big bale haylage each year and usually sell the surplus in the spring, but there's not much profit in it.

One of my neighbours has just baled his fields, and a few neighbour's fields who don't want the hay. He has a small suckler herd and they will eat almost anything. He got about 80 round bails which should see him through, 20 down on last year but he has a slightly smaller herd. I usually help him with wrapping but his SIL moved next door so he helps now.
Another neighbour has a different tactic, he has a few horses, both his own and a bit of livery. He wants hay with a lower sugar content to help prevent laminitis so he's waiting a bit longer and hoping he gets the weather later. Small hay balers are becoming hard to find. His usual contractor made a right cock of it last year, didn't turn it enough and managed to get loads of soil in with it, damp mucky bales are not much use, so he's found somebody else.

Trouble is many are sought by the Horsey crowd, who frequently have many aspirations but no cash to back it up ! They are the bane of farmers round here as they frequently don't pay up.

Whilst enjoying a refreshing beverage last weekend I recklessly promised to make a handloom for a friend.
Having almost sobered up the next day I cobbled this together.
It needed about 30 "cards" so after a quick bit of CAD the CO2 laser was fired up
