I rebuild my Stihl 044 a couple of years ago with a new piston and seals. Its runs brilliantly, loads of power and the speed of cut is amazing.
BUT there is a niggly problem. When its been run at full throttle on a cut and then put down as I adjust a log or move, I let it idle on the floor and it will gradually die and stall.
I set it up using a tacho after the rebuild so felt I got the H and L settings correct. It goes straight to full throttle from idle with no bogging at all. Adjusting the idle speed doesnt really help the problem, it just takes longer to stall.
All the lines and rubbers were good at the rebuild and the crank seals were replaced at the time too.
Any ideas?
