hi all i'm looking at making a U shaped decking path around my garden for next summer, looking into different options im set on composite top boards that will outlast any timber i could put down as well as little to no maintenance.
I would like to know if anyone here has built they're own steel decking substrate, not galvanised or stainless. i want to be able to cut it weld it and treat it without you know dying from exposure to toxic gases.
would this be viable and a long lasting solution? what if i protect the steel with spray on oxide and top coat?
not sure what to make it out of yet box, C sections I beams etc but its got to be worth considering, especially with the price of timber at the moment and the eye watering price of an aluminium substrate that has become popular.
all feedback and insights welcome guys thanks in advance
