Anyone able to point me in the right direction to get a short length of track about 2 or 3 ft?. I am in East Sussex nor Eastbourne.

You can buy it on eBay in short lengths, it may be worth contacting the seller if you want 2-3 ft and can’t see that length listed.

Got any heritage railways near you? Go ask them, they'll probably have a chuck for a deposit into the brew fund / charity coffers

ive seen railway track in a bender

but as the user hasnt said what is maybe for not much i can say

if its for an anvil you maybe be able to get hold of forklift tangs as another option

Tines…. Tangs are what hold files in their handles.

Lincs Wold Railway have tons of scrap track that's going for scrap but it all needs cutting.

100% agree, and why would I want to when I have the North Pennines to work and play in...

Furthest south I've been this week was Wolverhampton on Monday and it's always a joy to be amongst the Black Country folk, and the rest of the week has been in my my adopted homeland. Spending tonight on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales and gazing out over this bucolic scene:



...before heading north to the Scottish Borders at early o'clock tomorrow morning with 2 drops of concrete beams for Duns and Peebles then back home tomorrow night in time for Barnard Castle Truck Show on Saturday followed by Weardale Agricultural Show up the dale at St John's Chapel on Sunday.

And with all that on my doorstep I can't see me losing any sleep over not being stuck in miles of standing traffic on the M25 .

I have a 16" length () in the mancave that somehow evaded the tip if you can use it.

I'm not far out of West Auckland, might be up your way next Tuesday but will be loading out of Skippers Lane at Middlesbrough next Wednesday morning from 6 o'clock onwards if that helps.
