Adjustable vial levels.

As per the title. Other than stateside I'm struggling to find adjustable vial levels over here. Has anybody seen any?

Got a stack of stabila in the garage that are mostly only good as straight edges now and my current batch are showing inaccuracies. Fed up wasting money on non adjustable levels.

Stabila offer a 10yr warranty on their levels, unless yours are damaged in some way.

No proof of purchase for the current levels. Also depends on what they class as frame damage. One or two definetly have chips in the powdercoat.

If I can't find adjustable I'll probably end up going for a set of fatmax for a change.
Like the idea of being able to calibrate levels rather than hunting for proof of purchase. Finding a dealer waiting for a rep to check before getting another level sent out. Ordering my engineers level got me thinking about it. I acquired a leveloution years back which was adjustable and the best level I owned. Where it is now I have no idea and the company were bought out from what I can find.

First thing I do with any level even if I know its true is flip to test. Deeply ingrained for years.
recently Had a brickie put top course and wall plate on an extension and he didn't flip his level and only worked one way instead of meeting in the middle. 40mm out across the building when I got there. Not best pleased.

Im surprised they don't seem to be available anymore. Wouldnt take a moment to calibrate. Must be about maximising profit.

The irony is even with a digital level on the beam you still can't adjust the vials to true.

Gave up looking for now. Set of fatmax extremes and a new case on route. Prefer the bubbles to my old stabilas anyway.

We really are a disposable nation these days. Why sell a level for life when they can sell a new set every few years.

40 mm even having consistent mortar beds and no level i could better that with the eye

I know mate. The brickwork was really shoddy.
Wasn't happy. 20mm each way from the I beam.
Half the joist had to be packed up. Other half were chopped in. No pride these days.

The icing on the cake was when the firrings he ordered arrived.
12000mm run flat roof pitched in the middle so 6000 run. Asked for 185 to 35mm
What I got was 2x4 cut diagonally across the depth. So 40mm to nothing. Made me rip them in half and stack them despite my protests. Needless to say the roof pooled. A few weeks after I walked and went it alone.
It had been a long time coming. That was the last of many Bodges I witnessed. Note. This extension was for his closest mate. God knows what he was doing before I turned up.

Set of fatmax I bought around the time I posted are finally starting to go. Considering the abuse they've suffered in the back of the van I can't complain.

It's amazing how few people know you can check a level by turning it 180 degrees.

electronic/digital levels are calibrated in the same way.

I can't see what's wrong with an adjustable level, check it before you start a job.

Exactly mate. That's why I asked if they were available here.

Standard practice whenever I first pick a level up that day is to flip and test. Then mark the vial so I keep using the same one

Was on a job a while back and four of us Had Stabila boat/torpedo levels and three out the four were way out, mine included. There was a place in town (Newcastle) that used to repair them (when they had a heavier casting).
