Usb charger with a 12v output?

I need a replacement charger for a device,
Looks like a standard phone charger, ie plugs into a wall socket and has a USB socket on it but the specs are:

Your device comes with a charging adapter. Be sure any 3rd party adapter supports USB C to USB C charging and fulfils the following voltage and amperage criteria: 5V/3A, 9V/2A, 12V/1.5A.

I didn't know any USB chargers had a 12v output. The oem Samsung charger for my fairly newish phone (s10?) only has 5v and 9v and even that does not meet the amp requirements.

Any ideas on a suitable charger?
If I search for 12v USB charger I just get results of the ciggy lighter type ones..
Ideally something branded that won't catch fire...

Have you tried the original device manufacturer for a suitable charger ?

Usb3.1 includes Usb "Power Delivery", which is a bloody stupid standard, in my opinion. It lets devices negotiate with the host for upto 20v at 5A.

Chances are your device will work fine charging on a 5V 3A port. 12v 1.5A is still the same, 18 watts so theres bugger all advantage. The higher power chargers are all bloody expensive.

Why I dont like it. Somone had an idea, lets put an extra little power negotiation chip in every device.. several pins are wasted for this power negotiation. It would be better if they used 20v or 24v permently on, along side 5v for backwards compatability.

Edit- looks like they have changed their minds and its now upto 240W at 48v. This is going to become a massive fire risk, with most cables being ahite.

Definitely. Especially if people use a Poundland USB extension cable with them

Their stuffs not actually that bad. I bought a few of their £5 power banks after BigClive's youtube review of them. Better than some expensive ones I bought elsewhere!

Fair points - I'll rephrase to read "cheap and inadequate extension cable"!

I didn't think about it this way,
I just presumed the device needed all 3 voltages, not just one of them.
But, the most powerful charger I can find here is a 5v 2.5a and it won't work correctly with that.

It's a mobile card terminal, basically a handheld terminal that docks into a printer and the printer also acts as a charging stand.
The printer also has a battery.
Both the reader and the printer charge fine individually still but I have lost the original adaptor and with any of the others I try the terminal won't charge in the dock
