Quenching in brine is as old as blacksmithing. I have no idea why they do it but its a well known process.
It allows the water to be colder than 0Deg C.Please pardon my ignorance, but that’s the first time I’ve seen a reference to salted water for quenching, why is the salt added?
Made some stripes, then the rain came.
A quick Google suggests it's the fastest method of cooling, compared to say a thick oil which would be slow.
Do you have one of those [expensive] GPS-guided tractors? If not, well done with the straightness of those furrows.![]()
Apart from setting the systems up I can take no credit for the straight lines.
We have 4 tractors and the combine setup with autosteer, combine shares a system with one of the tractors though.
I'm not expecting you to quote figures as it's none of our business, but that must represent huge capital investment - yet Joe Public still expects cheap dairy and other food products, e.g. £1 for a litre of milk or a loaf of bread.
I like it, shows determination through adversity at its finest!!A shed move, would have been easy (er) but its lined with OSB / Ply so deceptively heavy, plus the small matter of a wall in the way. Why, well clearing space for exstension, and need the storage for the materials. View attachment 306353View attachment 306365View attachment 306366View attachment 306367View attachment 306368

Neighbours will be fine but someone else will prob report it, but then as it took me 14 months to get planning at appeal so I expect I can string the process out till I am finished, or put some pram wheels on it and claim its a caravan with shed like tendencies :-)Cue a neighbour complaining to council you have building in-front of the building line/to the front elevation . . .
