Remove the countersunk screws & any grubscrews (do both sides of the door), have a break & some shredded wheat, see post #15 by @willie.macleod

When handles have the grub screw in, quite often the bar is split and the grub screw expands it so as others have said give it a good pull!

I had exactly the same issue a few weeks back on the bathroom door, but this one had the grub screw missing.
I must have lost it at some point in the distant past and I’d forgotten that I’d bodged it with loctite or superglue. A little gentle heat from the blow lamp and it was off in no time.

You have to remove the handle to get the screws out normally, the handle attaches to the square bar that goes through the door and catch and is secured in to the 2 handles.

I would take a set of speed clamps, turn them so they are in pushing mode and then use that to exert force between the handles, then maybe give them a gentle ish blow with a hammer....
