Ryobi ONE+ Tools

As my corded and engine driven lawn tools are reaching the end of their reliable life and I have downsized I am considering gradually replacing them with battery tools. I will need to standardise on the battery platform. (Why can't ISO/EN/BS write a standard for the wretched things so that all brands are interchangeable?)

The Ryobi garden tool range seems the most extensive.

Does anyone have experience of the current generation One+ range?

A scarifier/rake would be nice. I won't have a regular use for hedge trimmer, blower/vacuum, chainsaw, tiller etc.

Experience of other brands offering the 'full range' of decent quality lawn care tools would be appreciated before I totally confuse myself Googleing options and spending days on Youtube.

I've got the ryobi mower, strimmer, long reach hedge cutter and chainsaw. I'm pleased with all of them, the oh uses the mower and strimmer more than me and its nice not getting the phone call to say they won't start, I'm happy with the amount they do on a battery. The strimmer won't replace a proper big petrol machine but for tidying up bits it's fine.

They are great but grinder is not much use just seems too slow.
I have one genuine 5AH battery and a Chinese one, both fine, and an assortment of smaller batteries
One top tip is the old Blue 18v tools are exactly the same and work fine, mots of mine are the old blue as they where £5 each!

I have about 10 of the tools, the only garden tool I have is the grass shear/shrubber. They are fine for domestic use.

I've 2 drills, impact driver, circular saw and sander as well, grease gun and impact wrench are next purchases I think, I've 8 x 4ah batteries and 2 x 2ah, all genuine, I bought a cheap kit in a homebase closing down sale to get 2 of them, lawnmower came with 2 and a voucher to appl for a 3rd, heard pretty good reports about some of the non genuine though.

I just use it for strimming around fence posts, corners the mower can't reach and light duties like that. I don't try to use it as a brushcutter, so I guess it should be fine.

That's basically what nikki uses ours for, it's perfect for bits like that as you can strim a bit, put it down to move something, pick it back up and it's good to go,

I have used the RYOBI 1+ tools since they were first introduced (the blue ones), i have invested heavily in them since and have most of the range of tools and garden equipment. They were really good five or so years ago, warranty claims were dealt with easily and the tools lasted well. In recent years i have personally been disappointed, just this week a circular saw and multi cutter have both died just out of warranty after little use. spares don't seem to be available either.

i needed a new compact drill & impact (screw) driver back end of last year for a major building project, looked at all brands and ended up with the brushless EINHELL range from wicks/toolstation. They have hard seem real hard and heavy use and have performed superb. So impressed with the performance i have just added a multi cutter and circular saw this week to replace the RYOBI stuff.

We have a small EINHELL garden tiller (small rotavator) that is suprisingly effectve, hedge cutter, long reach hedge cutter and strimmer - again all are superb. Will add a mower later on when funds allow.

Certainly worth a look in my humble opinion.

I've the Einhell 36V chainsaw. Well made imo. I used it mind with Makita batteries and 3D printed adapters my lad and I made between us.

Personally I don't own any Ryobi tool.
But I've had to repair a lot of those.
Both corded and cordless .
Cordless ones are not exactly what I would expect from a tool that costs that much.
Cordless brushed Rotary hammer and grinders are just worthless.
I don't know about brush less ones.
