Just looked at the screenshot again.
What's happened is the vice has actually been payed for by the buyer then refunded by ebay as the result of a dispute.
So ebay have taken the fee for that "sale" off the amount they have payed you.

The 30p is a fixed fee per transaction.
You never get that back regardless.
It's annoying because everytime some muppet buys something by mistake the seller looses the 30p even if the follow the correct process to refund the idiot buyer.

We all need to vote with our feet...its become totally unworkable to stay sane with the system they have right now...Selling stuff there now it would be cheaper to operate from a shop on the high street.

i sell loads on ebay had to put my prices up to compensate my self but sales are just the same as they have always been if not better with the price increases.
I am just about to put the postage up next week as the costs have gone up and ebay rob 20% of that also so now they need to be at least 20% more to account for that and packaging

The selling fees are pretty simple.
It's basically 12.8% of the total payment from the buyer. Plus 30p.
If you offer worldwide/gsp shipping they will charge a random amount extra for a currency conversion.
They also won't let you charge different postage rates to NI.
My workaround for this is to overpriced the item and allow offers so I can vet where the buyer is before accepting.
It does slow down sales though so I only do it on the more valuable stuff or stuff that's expensive to post.
It's far too easy for buyers to "borrow" items and then send them back for a refund plus you do get outright scammers as well.
Having said that, the ebay guarantee does seem to give the buyers more confidence as I seem to sell the same things on ebay fo25at least 25% more than they are advertised on FB etc. easily enough.
Unless ebay selling is your main income I don't think it's worth listing low value items. Personally I don't bother with much under a tenner unless I have hundreds of the same thing.
But that's more due to the hassle rather than the fees.
I wouldn't bother to list anything on FB for less than £50 as the constant messaging and waiting for them to turn up makes the ebay fee % look attractive!

Ie. You can block those that have not paid for 2 items or more within the last 6 months (only works if the sellers have reported them properly and many don't) but you can't stop the idiots and those who know how to work around the system.
There seem to be plenty of people who don't read the listing until after they have purchased the item!
Plus others who make several offers to different sellers for the same thing when they only actually want one.
Then there are the newly registered users with random user names who buy an item at full price and can never be contacted.
I'm sure some of these are other sellers trying to make their own items more visible!

Oh yes. I have had two recently that cancelled after expecting free software. Maybe I am not being clear and transparent enough? What do you reckon? My BMW radio converter.

I think this may be better in another thread....however, if the hardware is useless without software why sell it on it's own? If you have software variants then why not provide them as drop down options?

Because I am no longer VAT registered. Any European customer gets VAT added by Ebay regardless and it is unfair to them for it to be more than it has to be. Even if I were registered, there is a clause in UK VAT regs that it doesn't have to be charged if delivered manually, which is what I do. There are also three variants of bike and as many radio variants as there are radios on the market. Totally impractical.

they seemed to have stopped that option as I tried to reset it the other day .Please tell me if I am wrong , used to be no sellers with less than 100% feedback on ten or more purchases ect etc

About the only option left is to block buyers who have not paid for 2 items in the last 12 months.
The removed the option to block low feedback buyers when they stopped sellers being able to leave anything other than positive feedback.
I think you can still stop buyers with really low feedback buying more than one item from you at once but that's about it.
You can still block individual buyers by username but it's easy enough for them to just change the name or set up a new account to get around that.
