When I first started welding I bought a Clarke auto helmet, then through here I found out the cheapo baseball cap helmet that came with the used welder I bought. Turned out Optrel Weldcap wasn’t a cheapo gimmick at and noticeable much clearer optics. It’s great to use so long as you’re in the upright position. Laid down or sticking your head upside down and the mask part moves around so it’s either resting on your face or pulling away and taking the cap with it.
Anyway I’m wanting a proper helmet, I still have the Clarke but the vision is really poor through it and my eyes are bad enough. Looking for another Optrel and I’m stuck between the Crystal 2.0 and Panoramaxx helmets. I do MIG mainly on sheet and cars as a hobby and various bits for mates. I've never used cheater lenses before but eyesight isn’t as good as it was so will be using them with the new helmet.
looking for recommendations from owners, @Hood I’ve seen you seem to have some kind of addiction for them. Is the isofix worth it over saving a bit extra on old stock with the previous headgear fitted.
