I recently converted a donor bicycle into an electrically assisted bike for my wife. Result - she now cycles with or without me alongside. As far as I know it is illegal for e-bikes in the UK to have a throttle device. The electrics are pedal assist which means if you strop pedaling you get no electric assist. So where is the argument to ban them? As has been stated - what is needed is control, not elimination.
video wont play but this is how bicycles get around the law
Fast Electric Bike, explaining the loophole in UK law making them road legal
15mph or if the bike is for other use no other law exists so stupidsame rule should apply to escooters
