Has any one ever seen a very small 4hp belt drive compressor (mounted on a 25L, 50L or 100L tank)?
We're looking to add one and there is only one possible place where it would fit into the small workshop and the height restriction (900mm in height by 1200mm length) means that the common 4HP comps (Machine Mart/Clarke, NuAir, FIAC, etc) are too big as they all come mounted onto 200L tanks.
I have rigid airlines and small spaces elsewhere where I could fit additional receivers to boost the capacity, but only one place where the pump could go.
Next step is to buy one and refit it onto a used, smaller tank - or divorce the pump/motor entirely... but for once if there's an easy route by buying one directly, I'll take it.
So far, the only one I can find is this one from a firm in Belgium called Matthys. To be fair it looks like a really well thought out machine which has been upgraded in house - 900RPM and a cast iron pump (quieter: they advertise 68-72db, though don't know at what distance) and a 'buffer tank' which I've never seen before. The cost inc tax and delivery is £792 which, though on the high side, is doable - but its a lot to spend on a firm I've never heard of where replacement parts might be tricky to find. Having said that, on their "about us" page they seem to be a decent sized operation, certainly not a one-man-band.
Happy to consider a custom one from a UK builder too - but can't find anyone tat assembles them at DIY-type prices.
