I just plan to clear the overheads each week, any extra is nice. Bit of comp around here with the untaxed east European invisible workshops.... some even use gas!!

All the 'managers' have top of the range cars - personalised plates the lot. Obviously spending money on the wrong things!
........Reminds me of another myth I hear often, Public Transport is a viable option (provided you live where it is centrally controlled).
Yes, I could walk to the bus 'pole' in the nearest village; down 2 miles of filthy, unlit, unclassified roads and catch one of two buses each week: one going outbound to the nearest small town on Tuesday a.m, but with the single return service not being until Thursday p.m......If it wasn`t so stupid; it`d be almost funny!
The wonders of subsidised public rural-transport routes; as long as the service operates (even in such a ludicrously unusable way) then the public-monies are paid to the operators.
Runnach, can't the lad who got made redundant finish the year? When my stepdaughter was made redundant a couple of years ago, the firm had already paid the college, so she was able to finish the year out.
News of another two lads gone, one is 4th year, other 3rd year. They do block release and, were due back next month, still bloody tough out there!
Last week a large joiner outfit went pear shaped (this same company was the demise of others due to holding payment...........ironic) Wee fab/weld shop, pear shape, others with machining facilities toiling badly!
