Actually it was not really the F1 that got it closed. It was the differences of opinion. Which are always going to exist.

ive heard of knitting and sewing forums kicking off too...But that's the whole point. You have the right to think that.
I think Knitting is a pure easy of time but if someone started a knitting thread I would just ignore it.
However that not why it was closed (IMHO) it was personal comments. Not even profanity. Probably the heat getting to people.

F1 needs shutting down for a year or two so they can have a think about what racing actually is!
It's not about how fast you can change a wheel or how the team with the most statisticians can win, in my opinion it should be a start to finish race with no pitstops unless it rains.
Big engines, big tyres, limited driver aids then let's see who wins.

i see that you dont remember it when it was mclaren and williams the dominant tech teams that used to win all the time
the one thing i will say the removal of the tech was a good thing for all the teams to compete equal
how you pit stop is statergy same as changing your tyres and refueling

I agree, pitstops are important. Just make them do them with three guys. Enough of this 2 second rubbish.

Even better, have only one pit garage that all the drivers have to use and it's staffed by workers from whatever advance pitstop style tyre outfit is closest to the track.

but honestly how can anyone think the thread is actually about F1 let about requesting comments about if it's good or not.So instead of discussing what the thread was about we digress with yet another potential flash point created.
