There are ways to make people move over in corners being super aggressive is one, once you unnerve your opponent you are playing with his mind 2/3 apparent silly moves up the outside a you will start to thing the next time he is going to hit me so do I ? then their in your brain

I am waiting to see more shots of the corners before Max went off as its my opinion that dictated how hard Hamilton pushed into that corner!

From what I saw, Hamilton couldn't turn in to the racing line(grip?) and V tried to and got clipped. I doubt many of you get to make inch decisions at 150mph+, and it sometimes goes wrong.

Back when Shumaker used to deliberatly crash other cars, the FIA turned a blind eye because of Ferrari. Not now. The penalty could have had a much worse result, but didn't. 10 secs is an age in F1

To be honest Max had a faster racing line. Hamilton was on a shallower line. The contention was he would not have made the perfect apex. Watching the drone shots though it does show Maz squeeze Hamilton and should have expected a robust defence after his own Robust defence previously!

You are spot on about making inch decisions at 150 its not a perfect science!

I disagree entirely, he won that race because he pushed harder than ever. Lewis has been very complimentary about max before now but his whole career has been spent with incidents involving other cars. Your right about respect though , any respect i ever had for max disappeared today.

I dont believe that is a 100% accurate as the Racing line is between the two.Yes he has mirrors and yes he knew Hamilton was inside of him and I believe he did squeeze Hamilton. But IMHO it was a racing incident. Stewards on the day saw it differently. Horner wants Hamilton Hung.....somewhere in between there is the truth!

I am not saying he didnt! Parm might confirm as he was there as well. But my son said the hairs on the back of his neck stood up hearing the crown screaming as Lewis was taking chunks out of the Ferrari so how much adrenaline was pumping through Lewis when going after Le clerc god only knows. Its just that if Lando had of defended Lewis "might" not have caught Charles in time.

But I simply cant see why any respect for Max has gone because of one racing incident?

Don't agree, they were side by side going into the corner, it was obvious Lewis could not overtake in the corner but he could hold position. He stayed to the right of the circuit hitting the apex, but crashappen chose to drive into him rather than give him room. Lewis has been a clean driver throughout his whole career and today has been no exception. crashappen on the other hand has spent his whole career bumping into other cars like it's dodgems. A decent driver would have given Lewis room but he chose not to and paid a high price for it. Max is a talented driver when he chooses to be but frequently chooses not to be. F1 is a non contact sport

Not arguing for the sake of it BUT Max is a very talented driver making split second decisions. if he had stayed on his original line and missed Hamilton wheel its entirely possible thats Lewis would have punted him . I dont know what retardation he had left under his foot. That would have been a very different scenario with full blame on Lewis. It's also possible knowing where Lewis was and Max had braked more and continued his wider line they would both had cornerd side my side. If buts and maybees. Youtube will be awash with dissection later tonight.

Its very easy to sit and criticise the whole situation. The stewards are hit hard for being too controlling or not being controlling enough. Its sickening for anything to happen to any driver, marshall or spectator due to a spur of the moment mistake. I would have been happy to see both penalised but if there was no crash as a result would everyone be crying that the stewards are stifling competitive racing with over the top stewarding.

Both penalised is an interesting Topic......on another level but same as a racing incident!.. It would shake up the results though. lol

Hamilton stuffed it up the inside on a super fast corner. At the speeds they were both travelling, there is a very narrow line which allows them to even make it. Very little margin for error and if Max had opened up the steering on entry to make room for Lewis, he would have been off the track after the apex.

There is a very fine line between a block pass and deliberately running a competitor off the track or causing them to run off the track when you are coming from behind. Hamilton crossed that line when he punted Max off into hospital.

In onboard footage, you can see he turns in, sees Lewis and opens the steering slightly to allow Lewis PLENTY of room before turning back into the corner.

Lewis decides not to back out and is a car width further to the left than Max expects. He has left one car width, Lewis took two.

He was obviously alongside or he wouldn't have made contact.

Watching F1 does not make you any more of an expert. Doing it might. Have you ever raced?

Of course we haven't all driven F1 cars, have you? I'm no expert but I can form my own opinion and accept other people's even if they are different to mine. They were racing, stuff happens and they have to get on with it.

LH has won championships in the past by understanding that discretion is the better part of valour.
When you’ve got a decent points lead you need to protect that. When someone is climbing all over your wing on every corner then maybe it’s an idea to think about staying in the race over staying in position.

Christian Horner can say “no one puts a wheel up the inside there” until he’s blue in the face but they were almost side by side dragging up the straight, MV got ahead on the breaks on the outside.
In reality no one gets around the outside on that corner without running way off the road. LH couldn’t just disappear. He took his 10 secs without whining and then dug deep and won the race.

Life sucks, get a f...... helmet.

Whilst I do understand Horner's adrenaline fueled anger (from which he can't back down now) (I do think Toto would if the boot was on the other foot)
I do think he needs to review the footage and think he was lucky Hamilton got a penalty. (Not that it mattered in the end but he does get points on his licence.
I think he needs to wonder Perez only got 5 seconds for the second incident two weeks ago . Once was enough but twice should have been 10.

I’ve seen a few replays since I got back.
I agree, it was a racing incident with max marginally talking more blame

with a Potential to swing a massive lead and the other on home turf would anyone else have done different?
