Hello can someone tell me if you can make your own fibreglass shoe camper just a query idea I had

Although the fumes in small quantities are not "harmful" they can be if larger quantities are inhaled so good ventilation is essential.
That said I don't personally think it's a good idea to be breathing anything like that so I use a full face mask with "organic vapor" filters when I'm working with fibreglass and make efforts to not let the fumes into the house (ie while working in a "internal" garage I go out the side door and back into the house through the back door rather than use the "internal" house to garage door).
At absolute minimum wear safety glasses and a dust mask with good ventilation.
Wear a disposable "paper" suit and gloves because the glass fibres get *everywhere* and will itch and as mentioned, you do *not* want to get the stuff on you anywhere. If only because it doesn't want to come off!
When it's cured I would advise if you are doing any cutting, grinding or sanding to use a proper dust filter mask and ideally a full face one, the fine glass fibres can cause lung issues (similar to asbestos but the risk is far lower) as well as eye irritation. All depends however on how you are doing it. A bit of wet sanding and I'd just wear gloves and glasses. Power sander I'd be wearing the lot!

A firm called Strand Glass (?)in Liverpool used to rent out the mould for a canoe if you bought the resin and matt from them, back in the 60/70s.

Personally, I'm not convinced that there was ever a woman that lived in a shoe, especially an old woman. They complain about being cold all the time don't they.
And another thing, I have my doubts about that bloke with the flute-what was his name-Geldoff? I can however believe that the local council refused to pay him. Nothing much has changed.
Me too, the fumes can really get to you, Styrene gas which is given off by polyester resin when you add the catalyst has similar effects to glue sniffing. Most of the full time laminators i knew were proper lunatics with warped sense of humour.
One of the best used to go to the pub at lunchtime drink 5 pints of lager come back & lay fibreglass down all arvo, then go home have his tea & back to the pub for another 6 or so. I dont think he is around any more.
