Toolstation-is there an advantage ordering via phone, when the wait is so long?

I cannot fault the toolstation staff who answer the phone and take the orders. They are as helpful as they can be, and always courtius and friendly.

This next bit has only just ocurred to me. 13mins for someone to answer the phone. Plus a few minutes to make the order. What if anythig (time?) am I saving by phoning up? Unless there is a very big que and raining when I arrive to collect, then yes maybe there is.

If I am sat at home in a comfortable armchair with a mug of tea, then I don't mind waiting on the phone within reason.

Order online then the app pings you when you walk in the shop, and someone goes and gets it. Much more straightforward.

Toolstation has the same thing if you use the web, just order online and it will ping you when your order is ready then go and collect from the dedicated click and collect desk bypassing all the clueless numptys asking silly questions

Just order online, it is the easiest way and you get some indication of the stock levels before hand - the only reason to order over the 'phone is if you can't order via their website - that goes for either toolfix or screwstation.

Screwfix trade counter is the best thing if im honest, especially walking past all the Saturday diy crowd, get your order before they even get to the counter

I do wish my Screwfix would have a dedicated click and collect point; I don't know whether larger ones do as mine is a smaller one..?

Should do? Sign up for the app, order online and then "check in" when you get to the car park. That should trigger someone in the back to go fetch it and most times I walk in to hear my name being shouted.

Aah, didn't know you could do that - nor do I use the app. I just use click and collect online using my laptop. Cheers!

Is Babestation owned by the same group as Screwfix and Toolstation ? Toolstation usually have whatever I order online on the shelf behind the counter when I walk in. I pay online and they ask the last 4 digits of the order number then hand it over, works well.

The only thing to watch for with either Screwstation or toolfix is the online ordering delivery dates, unless it's in stock at the branch you won't see anything ordered on a Friday until the following week despite online saying it's next day.

I guess it depends where you live. Here, I've got seven screwfixes (screwfi?) all within a 15 minute drive so normally getting what I want same day isn't a problem.

Mind you, there was that time when I needed three handrail packs and the three most geographically dispersed screwfi had one each
