if there for hanging fittings on chains just use roofing bolts. bolt the chain to the fittings keep it simple

Yep, I know. I'm just very tight. I only need 8 and CEF want to sell me 25 I think it is.
If I'd have thought the other day when in TLC I'd have bought them then!
Saying that...I do need a pir so maybe a trip back to TLC is in order...

generaly only use sh..itty if i cant get stuff local . having said that the manager allways does me a good price

I've got good prices out of them eventually, it has taken a lot of haggling though. I think they've reduced the price just to get me out of the shop sometimes.
Tamlite, proteus, and all their other own brands are only fit for the skip.

On the face of it yes and very branch dependant I find. One will swear blind they can't get stuff shown online. Go to the next town/branch and no problem.
I remember being surprised their galv conduit couplers were much thicker and the galv better than Screwfix's but yes more expensive.

The last time I had galv conduit from CEF it was terrible, it folded up in the bender.
It's random as to what they happen to have in the branch at the time, no consistency to what they keep in stock.

Hmmm...I should have taken a pic of the light fitting. The monkey puzzles I've got are too small width wise to clip onto the casing. I very quickly knocked something up o/of a scrap bit of strip that would work. Don't really want to have to make 8 of them though...

Fittings like that are usually supplied with a metal hanging fitting that clips on.
Failing that I would bolt a pair of hook plates to it with besa lids on the inside as washers.
