Yes quite a learning curve,So, this is your Apprentice piece. Most people make a couple of clamps or a poker.
Beat me to it, I thought the sameBloke in the wellies is braver/dafter than me - balanced on the chassis under what looks to be an un-propped body . . . never mind when a spark goes down the boot and the ensuing dance . . .

That may well be all he was doing, but it can go to rat poo so quickly Hydraulic arm fails while dump truck is unloading its load. : CatastrophicFailure (reddit.com) Not quite the same, but illustrates the pointHe was just touching up a piece of paint
shouldn’t worry, you cant post anything anywhere these days, not (just here, anywhere) without attracting comments from those who are obsessed with safety. He was just touching up a piece of paint
Interesting way of looking at H&S. I'm not obsessed with H&S, but a quick question, have you ever seen the aftermath of an unpropped body coming down on someone up close and personal? Not nice. Luckily the young lad in question was pulled clear but not quick enough to clear an arm which was snapped multiple times from the elbow to the handIt must have been horrible
Its just application of that un-common thing - common sense!shouldn’t worry, you cant post anything anywhere these days, not (just here, anywhere) without attracting comments from those who are obsessed with safety.
Everyone’s attitude to risk is different. Its just application of that un-common thing - common sense!
Quite often people just aren't aware there's a potential issue - but when pointed out, "oh yeah . . . " and it's a bit of a reminder to take a little step back (having checked first there is room) and look at the bigger picture. I get to work in many places, many countries, many different H&S programs, but the general thing is just be aware of what's around you and the potential for problems - and point out anything you consider an issue - it may just save a life.
Me, I'd rather "waste" a few minutes ensuring mine, and others, safety and not need it, than not bother and my other half has to have a half day out with a few blokes dressed all in black and driving a nice black limo . . . or worse, have to look after a bug-gered up me. Or I have to make the call . . "there's been an accident . . ."
I'll have to admit I get annoyed with the many missives from our H&S dept - but I've come to realise most people just don't think things through enough, or just don't care, and so need all these procedures to be able to work safely.
