Please can someone help me wire this single phase 2hp Techtop motor?

Hello Chaps

Im sorry to have to ask only I am utterly ignorant as far as electrics go.. I just want to make knives

From the shots provided can someone *please* tell me how to wire this up? Id be happy to Paypal over a tenner for the trouble if we can get this working. The instructions are of zero help to someone like me and Techtop themselves wont help either..

Can anyone help?

Looks like brown needs to be on U1, blue on U2 then earth something metal…

just add the wires ontop of the silver link (don’t remove it)

Ill give that a try. By earthing to something metal do you mean the unoccupied pin in the top left of the first image?

I’ve just noticed the earth screw under the black wire on the right of the pic.

No worries, if it goes bang at least you know which way it isn’t Earth to the metal chassis of the motor, often the screws holding the terminal box are good. Maybe take a pic of the wiring and post before you power up to confirm if your worried

Here's a photo of a TEC motor on a compressor I did earlier.
It has an over load on it, but if your's doesn't just put the neutral (blue wire) to where the red wire with the spade connector goes.

The earth is wired directly to the live.
When / if you switch it on, it will go "bang"

Put the earth (green and yellow) to the case as @Screwdriver said and the photo in my post shows.

Take a more zoomed out pic, but as @Dcal said it will pop a fuse if plugged in as wired

I’m sure that’ll work but 1cm to the right is the official looking earth terminal just under the black lead
