I need some oil for my lathe turret I'm rebuilding, but I'm struggling to find something suitable.
The manual simply calls for a 80W90 oil that is compatible with rubber and Teflon.
The rubber bits are simply o-rings, which I've replaced with new Viton o-rings, but the Teflon components are two internal buffers.
The oil that came out, didn't have much of an odour, so I suspect it was some form of non-EP oil.
The only oil I can find in 80W90 viscosity, is GL4/5 which are both EP (aka stink quite a bit due to the EP additives).
Would I be better using a non EP MTF 75W90 oil?
