Bigger is not always better.
thats why i havent sold my myford when i got a bigger lathe. its lovely to use on small parts and i bought it from new and its still in mint conditionMy first lathe was a tiny South bend, used it for years and wish I had kept it for all the small jobs. Bigger is not always better.

i bought mine new for 800 quid about 48 years ago .by the looks of prices and whats going id get a grand for itBuy it, ideal starter lathe.
Someone will be along soon telling you a myford ml7 would be better value - i thi nk not.
and one will come along at the right price without jumping in at the 1st one you see .took me 2 years before i scored the Harrison in good nick at a good priceBuy it. Use it. Clean it up and learn on it

its a full flat bed wide beam making me think sogood find- certainly looks like a south bend!

For 200 quid might as well learn and turn while you wait.and one will come along at the right price without jumping in at the 1st one you see .took me 2 years before i scored the Harrison in good nick at a good price
