Setting up to cast a little lead keel for my boat project. Yesterday I adapted a gas bottle with a muffle to take a CH heating gun, to melt the lead.
Fitted with trunnions to tilt it when pouring.
		
		
	
	

One time use, so any old scrap sheet. The spout goes to the edge of the bottom, so, when pouring, the dross stays on top.
Mould:
		 
	
Wood chars a bit, but not much, commonly used for lead.
Ballast keel is 200kg, so need to set it up carefully, and level..
I will post some snaps when doing it.

 Local supplier out of any grade of grit. Will try today... (Wondered if it would be noticed by some sharp eyed pendant)
