I have recently started sticking metal together with a welder, an Esab rogue 150i, trying various positions rods etc. and some results looking ok. With vertical up fillet I have found best looking results with Nikko steel RD718, a 7018 rod, Esab 53.16 spezial a close 2nd, compared to 6013's. My question is, are the Nikko steel rods any different to other 7018's as they seem to be a lot cheaper to buy than othe 7018's. I have tried looking at the data sheets but in all honesty it's a bit beyond me.
